Today we had the opportunity to take Christmas and HOPE to the children of Owsley County Kentucky. Mission of Hope has been blessing many Appalachian-area chidden for many years with toys, hygiene items and clothes. I always enjoy the opportunity to serve children like these, and work with great organizations like Mission of Hope.

2019 Annual Shoe Drive for Lighthouse Ministries
This is one of my favorite days of the year. Here is Tay Henderson from Lighthouse Ministries (on the right) as I'm delivering a truck-load of shoes and socks from our annual shoe drive.
Thank you all who donated and thank you for our collection locations: UPS Stores, Lexington Compounding Pharmacy, Keller Williams Bluegrass Realty and Reliable Residential Roofing. Your donations of shoes and socks will greatly help Lexington's less fortunate.

EAA's WWII B17 Flying Fortress over Lexington
A few years ago I got to fly in this beautiful WWII B17 Flying Fortress over Lexington. (And just now got around to editing all the video together.) It'll be back at the end of this month if you'd like to take a flight around town in style. Here's the link to their site for more info.

Revolutionary War Encampment at Locust Grove in Louisville, KY
Every April Locust Grove hosts a group of historical reenactors portraying life during the late 1700s. This is known as the Revolutionary War Encampment. I found the actors to be fascinating to talk to. I met a school history teacher and a novelist, among others. It's facing to hear from someone so passionate and knowledgeable on a subject as important as our nation's past.
If you're in the area in April I highly recommend you make plans to attend.
See the rest of my photos from the event here.

LRM Walk for Warmth
This year marked the 12th Annual Walk for Warmth by the Lexington Rescue Mission, a two-mile walk-a-thon through downtown Lexington in support of LRM's Homeless Intervention Program. This program helps people find affordable housing, pays their first month's rent, and provides case management to ensure they are able to stay housed.
It was my privilege to get to emcee the event for the first time.
Thank you to everyone who came out and donated time, goods, services and cash to make this event a success.

Audio and Video Production
We were recently contacted by our friends at Lexington Rescue Mission to record a PSA. We have worked with LRM for many years, so I saw this as an opportunity to use them as a test subject for a new service: Video. We ended up shooting in one of their offices with just the overhead lights. For a first effort I'm pretty pleased. Looking forward to applying lessons learned, and do another video soon.
